Two of our members, Danny Riches and Brendan Flower (after being chosen at the BC Winter Game Tryouts), joined 13 other participants to make up the Zone 6 (Vancouver Island - Central Coast) team at the BC Winter Games, held in Trail, February 23-26, 2006.

It was an exciting tournament with 12 and 13 years old boys and girls, from across the province, competing. From all reports, our zone team did an outstanding job.

Both Brendan and Danny were successful in their preliminary matches and went onto the Sunday finals. Unfortunately, Brendan was injured by a high sweep that connected the knee and was unable to continue. Danny avoided injury, however, going on to win silver in Kumite and bronze in Team Kumite.

Congratulations to everyone and a big thank you to Todd and Brenda (the team coaches) and all volunteers for an outstanding job.
