Thirteen of our members traveled north to the Vancouver Island Friendship Tournament held in Comox on Saturday, May 14, 2005. A total of fourteen medals were won, including five gold, five silver and four bronze.

A highlight was a repeat of the Duncan Tournament where our girls, 7 and under group, swept the medal honours with gold, silver and bronze amongst a group of eighteen participants. Once again our members excelled in the kata events, but we didn’t fair as well in the kumite events.

We definitely need more training in the kumite division and it is in the works. Watch your email for details on extended kumite training.
